The Hon'ble Minister for Industries, Commerce, and Information Technology, Sri. Mekapati Goutham Reddy represented the Andhra Pradesh at the World Economic Forum summit held at New Delhi, 3rd Oct 2019.
“As per the Hon’ble Chief Minister, Sri. YS Jagan Mohan Reddy's direction, we are moving ahead in enhancing AP's brand image as the immediate goal,” said Hon’ble Minister, Sri. Goutham Reddy.
The Ministry and the Government officials are working toward collecting opinions about how to develop industries in an effective way. “Already investors are showing their interest in Andhra Pradesh. We are giving utmost priority to Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME),” said the Hon’ble Minister, Sri. Goutham Reddy.
He added that the Government is planning for a “brandathon” citing “youth as the brand ambassadors for enhancing AP's brand image.”
“We will collect new ideas and suggestions from the youth for enhancing AP’s brand image. To encourage such ideas the Government has planned to give first, second, and third prices with a cash reward of Rs. 50,000, Rs. 25,000, and Rs. 10,000 respectively for those who have given the ideas,” said the Hon’ble Industries Minister.
Andhra Pradesh government has been working on establishing special industrial zones in 13 districts. The Hon’ble Minister has spoken about the State’s involvement in India’s bright future. According to the Minister, Andhra Pradesh contributes USD 180 billion to the country’s GDP and stands in the ninth position. The government is trying to improve its position, which in turn would help the growth of the country’s GDP.
Hindware and Mitsubishi company officials have interacted with the Hon’ble Minister on the sidelines of the event. Other high-profile participants at the event included – Hon’ble Chief Ministers of Punjab, Meghalaya, and Madhya Pradesh and Hon’ble Minister of IT, Telangana.
