Hon'ble Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu's US Visit Day 5

Hon'ble Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu held a meeting with Mr.John Chambers, Executive Chairman and former CEO of Cisco Systems.

Mr. John Chambers gave a presentation on how modern communications can connect the world and demonstrated how he conducts meetings from his board room with executives around the world.

In his interaction with John Chambers, Chief Minister said "Andhra Pradesh is at the forefront in integrating technology in governance and that the government is keen on strengthening the eco system and we need to explore the possible areas of collaborating with you".

John Kern, Senior Vice President, Guy Dietrich, Vice President and the delegation from Andhra Pradesh were present. Mrs. Aruna Sundararajan, IT secretary government of India is also present with the delegation.

Cisco systems , Inc is an American multinational technology conglomerate headquarters in San Jose, California, in the centre of Silicon valley, that develops manufactures , and sells networking hardware, telecommunications equipment and other technology services and products.

Hon'ble Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu received "Transformative Chief Minister Award" in recognition for his role in advancing the US-India partnership at the State Level. The award by the US-India Business Council was presented during USIBC West Coast Summit in Silicon Valley, California.

U.S.-India Business Council was formed in 1975 at the request of the U.S. and Indian governments, the U.S.-India Business Council is the premier business advocacy organization, comprised of 350 top-tier U.S. and Indian companies advancing U.S.-India commercial ties. USIBC is the largest bilateral trade association in the United States, with liaison presence in New York, Silicon Valley, and New Delhi.

Hon'ble Chief Minister visited Applied Materials Headquarters in California. Mr. Gary Dickerson, President and CEO and Mr. Om Nalamasu,Senior Vice President and other representatives from Applied Materials were present in the meeting.

Mr.Gary said that a lot of talent in the field of semiconductors and applied materials comes from India and it can transform India, while Indians transform the world.

The Chief Minister proposed for a group, which will draw a road-map for applied materials to involve Andhra Pradesh. This group will also work towards upgrading facilities in materials research in the Universities of Andhra Pradesh.

Mr Vinod Khosla, the founder of Khosla Ventures called on the Chief Minister at San jose. The Chief Minister asked Mr.Khosla to help in structuring the initiatives to encourage start-ups in Andhra Pradesh. 

Khosla Ventures is an American venture capital firm focused on early stage companies in the Internet, computing, mobile, silicon technology, biotechnology, healthcare and clean technology sectors that was founded by Vinod Khosla.The firm is based in Menlo Park, California.
