Hon'ble Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu's US Visit Day 4
The State government of Andhra Pradesh has entered into a Memorandum of Cooperation (MoC) with the State of Iowa, USA.
This MoC which will facilitate knowledge sharing and technological assistance in adopting the best practices in the agricultural sector.
The MoC documents were exchanged on Sunday at World Food Prize Foundation in Des Moines in the presence of Hon'ble Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu and Iowa agriculture Secretary Bill Northey.
Mr. Bill Northey, Secretary of agriculture of Iowa in his address extend a warm welcome to the Chief Minister and said Iowa and Andhra Pradesh share a lot of similarities of which agriculture is one. “Together we make a commitment today to collaborate to make farmers lives better, agricultural to fare better and to wipe out hunger from the world,” said Mr. Bill Northey.
The Chief Minister said that he is happy to enter into MoC with Iowa. He said that his government is working relentlessly to double the incomes of the farmers of Andhra Pradesh, the rice bowl of India.
Chief Minister in his keynote address said that he has come all the way from India to Iowa to study the best practices so as to make agriculture prospers in Andhra Pradesh as well as in India. “Today’s farmers are facing difficulties because of the lack of knowledge and information, I am keen to fill this gap,” said the Chief Minister.
Engagements like these will bring more knowledge on soil health, micronutrients, water management, market information etc, thereby help us in setting milestones to achieve our mission to make agriculture a profitable business, the Chief Minister stated.
The Chief Minister stressed that the Mega Seed Park Project should be implemented on a priority basis so as to increase the agricultural productivity and help increase the incomes of the farmers in the near future.
The Chief Minister said the need of the hour is to empower farmers with efficient and useful tools and that today is an important day in his life as he has initiated a mega project for the overall betterment of the agriculture and the people dependent on it.

Quinn, President of the World Food Prize Foundation, Bill Northey, Secretary of Agriculture of Iowa and CRAIG Hill director of World Food Prize Foundation, Mrs. Neeta Bushan, Consul General of India in Chicago, Hon'ble Minister for Finance&Planning,Commercial taxes & Legsitative affairs Yanamala Ramakrishnudu,Mr. G.Sai Prasad, Principal Secretary to CM, Mr. J Krishna Kishore CEO Andhra Pradesh Economic Development Board, Mr Ajay Jain Principal Secretary to government, Dr Parakala Prabhakar Communication advisor to the government and the delegation from Andhra Pradesh were present during the signing of the MoU.
Hon'ble Chief Minister described each Telugu person as a Bahubali and said that Telugu people should emerge as role model in the world. Interacting with Non-resident Telugu people as part of his fourth day US tour at San Jose University , He said Film Director Rajamouli re-established the power of Telugu people by producing world class movie Bahubali-2.
He stressed the need for developing Amaravati as a world class city and sought the cooperation of NRIs for developing a world class capital.
Later several leaders of California including San jose mayor Sam Licardo, Congress representative Ro Khanna, senator Bob Welcowsk, assembly member Kansan Chu, Aash Kalra met Chief Minister. Minister for Finance Yanamala Ramakrishnudu, Govt advisor (Communications) Dr Parakala Prabhakar,Principal Secretary to CM G Saiprasad,Andhra Pradesh Economic development board CEO J Krishna Kishore,CRDA chief secretary Ajay Jain, IT principal secretary K Vijayanand and secretary of industries Solman Arokyaraj were present.
