Hon'ble Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu's US Visit Day 1
Hon'ble Chief Minister Shri N Chandrababu Naidu has begun his weeklong visit to US. During which he would hold several meetings with the who's who of the Industry to assure them that Andhra Pradesh is the right place for investments and innovations.
The Chief Minister was accorded a warm welcome at the San Francisco airport by Telugu NRIs from Bay Area, AP Janmabhoomi and AP NRT wings.
In an attempt to instill confidence in the US investors, he spoke of political stability in the state and the 'pro-active 'role his government is playing as a true development partner at the national level. He began meeting with who's who of industry and business sections in the US as part of his mission.
The Chief Minister held a meeting with McNamara, CEO Flextronics, a leading electronics manufacturing player. In conversation with McNamara, he spoke on the enormous advantages the state is endowed with in terms of location and accessibility. He said that Andhra Pradesh is well connected with rail, road, sea and air routes and has plenty of natural resources besides its skilled labour force. He asserted that the state presents an investor friendly climate with zero-tolerance to unrest.
The Chief Minister said that Andhra Pradesh is a potential logistical hub for India and that it is the right time for Flex to expand their operations in Andhra Pradesh. It is also to be noted that Flex Limited is already present in Vizag. While agreeing with the Chief Minister, McNamara informed that they are interested to go for further expansion of operations. The Chief Minister told McNamara to take a plunge in the ''Sunrise Andhra Pradesh". without any more waste of time. He later informed McNamara about the digital initiatives taken up by the government in the state.
Google vice president Tom Moore has also met the Chief Minister, the focus of the meeting was his future expansion plans.
Hon'ble Chief Minister N.Chandrababu Naidu also met Edmund Gerald "Jerry" Brown Jr., who is Governor of California at Sacramento. The Chief Minister claimed that the state bifurcation turned out to be a blessing in disguise for Andhra Pradesh offering a vast scope for rapid industrial progress. He sought joint collaborations with California in research, technology, industry and agriculture.
Chief Minister took part in a separate meeting with Simon Segars, CEO of ARM Holdings which is world's largest semi-conductors supplier. Simon Segars apprised the Chief Minister about their activities and that they are concentrating more on IOT (internet of things). The Chief Minister explained how Andhra Pradesh is infusing technology in governance and taking welfare programmes to the people with transparency.
Hon'ble Chief Minister held a meeting with Dow R Wilson, the President and CEO of Varian Medical Systems and invited them to invest in Andhra Pradesh.
