Shri. YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, met senior officials of the Indian Embassy and the US Chamber of Commerce, and participated in a business roundtable discussion organized by the US-India Business Council (USIBC) and the Atlantic Council’s South Asia Center in Washington DC in his maiden trip to the United States as the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh.
This exclusive business roundtable focused on opportunities to strengthen connectivity between the United States and Andhra Pradesh and laid the foundation for investment and trade opportunities between Andhra Pradesh and the United States.
Speaking at the business roundtable, the Hon'ble Chief Minister “complimented the USIBC for working with the Government of India to identify the ‘5 big ideas’ that will catalyze the US-India Economic Partnership and welcomed the USIBC to also work with Government of Andhra Pradesh to identify ‘5 big ideas’ to catalyze the US - Andhra Pradesh Economic Partnership”.
The Hon’ble Chief Minister said that the Government of Andhra Pradesh and USIBC can prepare a roadmap to achieve investment and trade targets, especially in the areas of agriculture and food security, healthcare, education, infrastructure, and manufacturing. Also, the Hon’ble Chief Minister invited U.S companies to expand their CSR activities in India.
Shri. Harsh Vardhan Shringla, the Indian Ambassador to the United States, mentioned that the Chief Minister’s decisive victory is a landmark event which will support India’s rise to a USD 5 trillion economy.
Mr. Irfan Nooruddin, Director of the South Asia Center at the Atlantic Council said that “the council would help Andhra Pradesh to engage closely with the private sector on building climate resilience”.
