Andhra Pradesh Delegation led by the Hon’ble Finance Minister to the Republic of Singapore to present Andhra Pradesh's new vision and strategy at the “India-Singapore: The Next Phase” held on 9th to 11th September 2019
India's High Commissioner to Singapore, His Excellency, Jawed Ashraf, met the delegation from Andhra Pradesh led by Hon’ble Minister of Finance, Sri. Buggana Rajendranath, which included Additional Chief Secretary to Chief Minister, Dr. PV Ramesh; Principal Finance Secretary, Sri. SS Rawat; and the staff members of the AP Economic Development Board.
The Hon'ble Minister for Finance, Sri. Buggana Rajendranath presented Andhra Pradesh's new vision and strategy at the business and innovation summit organized by the Indian High Commission in Singapore titled “India-Singapore: The Next Phase”.
The Hon’ble Minister for Finance and the rest of the delegation from Andhra Pradesh met the leadership team of Sembcorp, which is a leading energy, marine, and urban development group. Sembcorp’s current projects in AP, as well as its future plans in the state, were discussed in the meeting.
The Hon’ble Minister for Finance, Additional Chief Secretary to CM, and Principal Finance Secretary of the Government of Andhra Pradesh met the External Affairs Minister of India, Sri. S. Jaishankar to discuss the status of the ongoing engagements with Singapore and future plans of collaboration between Andhra Pradesh and the City-State Singapore.
The delegation led by the Hon’ble Minister for Finance, Sri. B Rajendranath also had a meeting with Mr. Desmond Lee, Second Minister for National Development and Minister for Social & Family Development, Singapore and discussed the recent activities between India and Singapore. This meeting also highlighted the priorities of the current Government. Sri Buggana Rajendranath also participated in several other meetings with the Board members of the Singapore India Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SICCI) and participated in the Business Roundtable with Sri. Hardeep Singh Puri, Minister of State for Housing, Urban Affairs, & Civil Aviation; GoI discussed on topics of ease of doing business in India for overseas citizens of India, skilling and technical education, e-mobility, smart cities, real estate, public infrastructure, core manufacturing, food processing, among others.
The other meetings included the meeting with H.E. Mr. Chan Chun Sing, Minister for Trade & Industry, Govt. of Singapore, the Roundtable with Singapore Business Federation where the members of the SBF highlighted the importance of their relationship with Andhra Pradesh, which was reflected in the establishment of the AP Business Council under the SBF umbrella to identify investment opportunities in AP.
The roundtable discussion concluded with the AP delegation welcoming new business proposals from the members of the SBF which can be submitted to the Government of AP through the Andhra Pradesh Economic Development Board.
