Andhra Pradesh Holds Stakeholder Consultation on Draft Industrial Parks Policy - Mr. J. Krishna Kishore, CEO, APEDB

The Government of Andhra Pradesh with a view to make the state a highly progressive and industrialized state has conducted a stakeholders consultation exercise for discussing the draft Industrial Parks Policy on 2nd November 2018, at the Andhra Pradesh Secretariat in Amaravati. This Stakeholders' Meet was organised by the Andhra Pradesh Economic Development Board (APEDB) in co-ordination with the Department of Industries, Government of Andhra Pradesh.

Given the increasing number of proposals from various industries for development of world class industrial infrastructure, the Government of Andhra Pradesh felt the need to encourage the development of integrated Industrial Parks in the state, by enabling the creation of a framework to increase participation of private sector developers. The Industrial Parks Policy, when introduced, would encourage and enable the development of world class Industrial Parks by private sector agencies in Andhra Pradesh. The draft Industrial Parks Policy aims at balanced regional development in the State in the by incentivizing development in all areas across the State.

Several key industrial park players such as Mahindra Lifespace Developers, Hiranandani Group, All Cargo, Indospace, Tishman Speyer participated in the meet and discussed key provisions of the draft Industrial Parks Policy. The industry stakeholders also presented their concerns and views in relation to development of industrial parks in the State.

The industry stakeholders deeply appreciated the initiative taken and the efforts made by the State of Andhra Pradesh to gather the views of the industry players on the draft Industrial Parks Policy and shared their enthusiasm for participating in the growth story of Andhra Pradesh. The industry players had an excellent opportunity to interact with the senior officials of the State Government and discuss investment and development opportunities for industrial parks in the State.

The State Government would consolidate the comments and tailor a suitable policy to attract the potential investors to develop world class industrial parks in the State.
